So far it seems to work. For anyone else using the URC-8206 the map file is not included in the standard Images zip but aberguerand has posted it here https://www.hifi-remote.com/forums/dload ... le_id=3115

I have built the interface and downloaded my URC-8206 JP1.2 remote with IR.EXE. Now I want to start playing with Keymap Master but the remote is not listed in KM.

How do I proceed?

Appreciate the help.

In the JP1.2 you will not need to connect to the 7 pin in the DB9. Those components (resistor and diode) will not be there for the JP1.2... only JP1.x. You will also not connect to pin 5 on the IDC connector for the JP1.2 only interface. Make sure you have the up to date version of the schematic as ...

My USB->Serial converter is one bought off Ebay so has no brand as such. From the Device Manager it is a "Huge Pine USB to Serial Ports" I have used it for other things so the cable does work

I am running Win XP (SP2).

Go you good thing! It is working like a gem.

Had another look at my circuit and hadn't made two connections (wanker  ). Lesson 1 build the interface in one sitting and not three hoping you'll remember to make that connection tomorrow!

The tester software comes up as JP1.2 interface found ...

I have tried on my computer with a USB->Serial converter and on another computer ...
