The wiki article was just what I was looking for, thanks! I have found IrS generally very intuitive and the documentation thorough and well-written, but as with all powerful tools, your caveat about knowing the domain was well noted and I soon found myself lost in the many features and options. Each ...

You read my mind, thanks for the code and the background.

Is there a tutorial somewhere on how to use IrScrutinizer to create RM-ready device upgrades from the files IrS can import like CCF and CML? I understand that IrS can create RM-import-ready GIRR files as output, but it isn't clear what GIRR ...

How to convert Pronto code

Help!

I have a bad habit of buying older used electronics without remotes and then trying to find device upgrades here. There is a device upgrade for the Aton DLA4 zone selector I just bought but it is missing one of the IR commands, for which I have the Pronto code:

"GLOBAL RECALL SCENE", "sendir ...

ylaviolette wrote:@robp2175, I know this is a bit late but just curious if you got this working and how?
if not let me know as I was able to make it work on a DLA-6.
Could be interesting to see if we have the same approach.
I'm late to this party but trying to do the same with a DLA-4. Can you share what you did?

Thanks, Rob. I was trying to enter these provided codes into the hex column, that's where I went wrong. But I especially appreciate the background on what's happening, explained in a way a casual user can understand. Thanks also for many years of excellent support on this site!

I have created an upgrade based on those codes here:
https://www.hifi-remote.com/forums/dload.php?action=file&file_id=27238

Thanks, Rob!

My question is, how did you create an upgrade based on those codes? That is, how did you know to translate their DVR=D4 to DVR=D2, or their Info=99 to Info=66 ...

Zapperbox remote codes

Hi, I searched the downloads area and don't see any Zapperbox updates, so I'm trying to create one for a URC3660. According to Zapperbox, they use "NEC protocol with device ID code 0xBD02". I tried learning a few signals and RMIR recognizes most as NEC1 with device 2 and subdevice 189, but in most ...

Re: Repair Xsight Color?

Another one starting to go... NOS just a couple years ago now the right button just below the display is dead. Anyone got a how-to on disassembling these? And had any luck with repairing dead buttons? I've got either 3 or 4 in this same state. thanks!

2000+ keystroke trials earned me these discrete codes on the A80J Sony

Back on the original topic, I just found this. Apparently some Sony remotes can function in BT or IR mode:

I can confirm that if I disable Bluetooth, the remote sends ...

Try looking at the Sony remote through your cellphone camera, digital cameras can "see" IR signals, so you will see a flashing if it's sending an IR signal. Of course, if it doesn't even have an IR window or visible IR-LED then yeah, it's probably RF or Bluetooth.

Good point! The camera shows ...

You can buy adapters to disable the cec signal on the one device:

Directly select HDMI devices via EFC?

Hi all, similar question on an A80J. All codes work fine, but since I have a PS3 connected to HDMI3 via CEC as well as a FireStick, the HDMI3 command by default selects (and powers up) the PS3, even if I'm selecting HDMI3 to go to Firestick, which is always on. I noticed the Input menu on the TV has ...

Hunter Ceiling Fan Remote

Hi,

I looked in the file section and searched the forums, but so far haven't been able to find any info on the Hunter fan remote, I have the Hunter Aerodyne Simpleconnect model #51314. I may have a bad remote and figured I might find an upgrade here that would allow me to send official IR from a ...
