I know this question might not be specific enough, but just to see if you might blow ... Is it possible to utilise other people's KM and RM codes which are for specific their remotes for your own remote? Yes. That's the whole point of the file section. (You really HAVEN'T read an ythignm have you ...

My Remote Master is broken. It was working yesterday - now it doesn't appear when I double click on the RemoteMaster.jar file...

What is going on?

Got it working again. Originally I had RM pointing to a CDROM for its RDF files. This morning there was a different CD in there and hence it couldn't ...

Thanks Capn' , most helpful. I was about to read that particular document... you have cut out the crap and pointed me to the specific.

Just throw another spanner in the works... what happens if you don't have the original remote to learn from?

I know this question might not be specific enough, but ...

I say again!...
... However I would like to remove and add a few functions to these using the learning feature, but that can come later once I get my head around RM and IR.

I repeat my advice from several posts back:
..., but with IR and a learning remote, creating upgrades from scratch is ...

When I was trying to break the remote  via the OFA website modem upgrade, I found that downloading the metronic and xbox wav file worked to some extent. The SAT worked as wanted but the XBOX controls were lacking most of the buttons - especially the SELECT button - I use XBMC and I could live ...

There are 12 upgrades in that WAV file, which upgrade worked each device.

That's what I was about to ask. I had to get office for my son to do his school work at home instead of having to stay at school to do it. So am going to start learning km. I figured making an upgrade for this sat box ...

Are you certain that the Capn's IR file does nothing for your TV? It works on my Panasonic TX-32PK20. I do note, however, that a lot of Panny TVs use 0250 (basic) or 0650 (with Teletext) and you state that yours works with 0659.

Follow the suggestions above - learn, create and check upgrades for ...

Hey! Thanks for all the replies and help...

Thanks for your effort Capn Trips but I'm afraid nothing worked except the Humax... can't blame you for it since you didn't know the model of the devices... to assume I had a HD Pana TV  !

Here are the details for reference:
TV Panasonic TX-28PM12 ...

whompus wrote:These codes are listed for your metronic sat,
0421, 0243, 0613, 0288, 0520, 0084, 0818, 0885.
Are these the codes in the remote already? (i.e. assigning a device button using one of these codes - Device/MAGIC(**)/CODE) or are they some kind of JP1 codes?

no easy way

I knew I wouldn't be able to get away with a half baked plan like that!

Here goes... some newbie impressions and questions.

As I understand it from reading Beginners - read this thread first:

There are 3 programs: IR, KM and RM. I need to use either KM or RM in conjunction with IR. With some ...

Reset and go?

I have just reset the remote: Magic (**) 981.

I used IR to download the settings. It has chosen this RDF:

URC-7550 Black 5 Device/7552 Silver 5 Device/7560-B01 Black 6 Device/7562 Silver 6 Device One for All

I believe that is the EBV0EB1? What does this mean then? The code inside the battery ...

broke remote fixed!

Hey! I don't actually know what has happened but my MAGIC button is working again! Hurrah!

I did what you suggested. Downloaded and opened the document in IR. It complained about 'no data found in signature' but I went ahead, and it asked me for the remote model (I chose URC-7560_7562 Extender), it ...

Here is the IR file downloaded from my broken remote:
https://www.hifi-remote.com/forums/dload.php?action=file&file_id=2725

I just uploaded a blank IR configuration. I started IR. I did File->New->Select. Selected URC-7550_7552_7560_7562 One For All (EBV0EB ... can't read the rest) and the uploaded ...

Oh no! Me again!

I've gone an bought a JP1 cable of syncmaster108 (of eBay).

I've connected the (broke) remote to the parallel interface and loaded up the remote's 'profile'. I then upload to the remote, which makes the TV button flash twice (like if I had removed and replaced the battery) and not much else happens ...
