Re: Weird RMIR behaviour - 2 Roku upgrades
There are 10 images in this thread, on pages 1 and 2, and all show this "not viewable" message.
From Germany, they are visible. Then i virtually moved to the UK, using VPN, NordVPN to be exact. And, voilà, now I also get "Content not viewable in your region"!!
So it must be the image hoster ...

Re: What Kind of Cable to Buy and Where to Buy It.
Do you keep wearing out Dupont connectors? If so, given that you can only buy Dupont connectors in bulk, that means you should have lots of spares if you've bought some. Then the only question is the pins themselves. Wouldn't it be easier to just buy more pins and a tool to install them, then just ...

Re: What Kind of Cable to Buy and Where to Buy It.
I proposed using an RJ11 telephone plug to repair the end of my first JP1 cable, which worked fine until the pins snapped off.
Is there any reason why that would not work?
A JP1 cable has a USB plug at one end, to connect to your computer, and a 2*3 Dupont connector at the other end, to connect ...

Re: What Kind of Cable to Buy and Where to Buy It.
I am using RMIR v3.0.15 (on Windows 11) and never had to actively configure my previous, working cable. It was plug-&-play.
That version of RMIR is several versions old, it's normally good practice when you're experiencing issues like this to first make sure you have the latest version of the ...

That sounds like an unusual hack, having to change the device modes to CBL to make unshifted power macros work, but we should try to make sure that that's well documented.

Re: RemoteMaster vs IR
You can simply open your *.ir files using RMIR and re-save them as *.rmir files, that's it.

Re: What Kind of Cable to Buy and Where to Buy It.
I did not see "Prolific" anywhere on my recent lemon two-pack , just FTDI.
That's because they're FTDI cables, if they were Prolific they would say that instead. If you search for "FTDI FT232RL" cables, you will find FTDI cables, and if you search for "Prolific PL2303HXD" cables you'll find ...

One thing I noticed right away with your file is that none of the devices specified on your General tab of RMIR corresponds to a device file. Am I missing something there?
It only appears that way because he hasn't labeled any of his upgrades, but the first two (CBL/0253 and CBL/1523) are both ...

It's usually mentioned in the title of the listing itself.SysTech_Larry wrote: Sat Apr 11, 2026 5:24 am @mdavej, how do you spot the difference between FTDI & Prolific?

Re: What Kind of Cable to Buy and Where to Buy It.
As you can see from both of the listings that you linked to, neither of those cables have "brands", they're all generic, so it's impossible to say which one is better than the other. I used to link to known-good cables, but it was difficult to keep up with the changing listings, so I stopped. I just ...

Re: Actual OneForAll Smart Control Pro Remotes (URC 7981 / URC 7985) useable with RemoteMaster
If the question really is, are OFA codes compatible with OFA remotes, the answer is yes. But if the question that you meant to ask is "are these codes that you downloaded with the app, pre-installed in other OFA remotes", the answer is more likely no. But a JP1 user would not need to know if these ...

Re: Sending and receiving 455 kHz infrared codes from B&O on Mac
I don't plan to start from a backup installation; I prefer to start from a clean system.
As far as I can tell, iRed2 hasn't been available for many years, so you're asking if anyone else has a backup installation of it. Why would it be ok to come from someone else's backup, but not your own? But ...
