I believe current Volvo NAV systems are Windows CE based and OEM'ed from Navtec (www.navteq.com). I know that Navtec makes the application and data but I don't know who makes the hardware. I've go an S60 with HU803 H/U (this H/U is made my Mits.) and no remote :( I've got a XC90 with NAV on the way ...

This might be another topic but have you any good ideas on repairing remote buttons? I've tried the conductive paint trick on my RCU810, it works for a while but eventually the paint flakes off and cause shorts and make the remote go nuts (this happens usually after only a few day's use). The ...

ah.... right. Sounds like a lot of work. Sorry Robman, I guess it was a rhetorical question. Looks like the 811 is going back to Radio Shack.

Hey Robman,

Thanks for the reply. Looks like I'll just have to look at other options to replace my failing RCU-810. If only I had more time to try to figure out how to commuicate with the RCU-811 :cry:

RCA RCU-811 - a look in side...

I grabbed an RCU-811 and popped it open, I posted the pics here
I don't think it's a URC since I don't see a URC model #.
There's no JP1 but there is a communications link of some kind, if you check out the pics you'll see these connections:
"SIO" (serial I/O?), ENABLE (write/read enable?), OV or ...
