JP1.3 with FTDI adapter DTR only

Hello

now, some years later, my Harmony 300 is getting sick (the OK press does not work always), I found my RCA RCRP05b and wnat to use that with a Sony LCD TV (49KDL755), the VU+ Solo2 and a Bose soundbar.

So I downloaded all the tools and rdmu files to re-program the RCRP05B with the FTDI ...

I am OK with the last solution but must state, that the Arduino signals do not match the learned hex codes (except for the sub device number)
I'm confused by this statement. Here's my understanding:
You have an Arduino board, and somehow obtained a list of IR codes for the Blaupunkt. Using the ...

We could ask.
Josef, you are using USB BUB II board, it has FT232R, which
has RTS (active low) signal on pin 3 -- would you consider tack soldering a wire on that pin in order to use RTS?

So, in order,
1) Try uploading a revised upgrade to the RCRP05B, specifying the executor as NEC1 instead of NEC2.

2) If that doesn't work, download the "no repeats" protocols.ini entries, and add NEC1 No Repeat to your protocols.ini file. Upload a revised upgrade with that executor.

Thanks for ...

Josef,
First, let me recommend that when you have a question, if there is a IR or RMIR file available, upload the file to the Diagnostics Area and post a link here. That way we can see all aspects of the issue.

Hallo Josef,

let me suggest that you use IrScrutinizer instead for capturing IR signals with the Arduino. Load the sketch scrutinize_receiver from the arduino subdirectory of IrScrutinizer, select Capturing hw -> Arduino, and enter the serial port name where your Arduino sits. Check and possibly ...

FTDI board to JP1.3

Hello

I just tested IR 8.04 with my FTDI adapter and it does only work with DTR connected. If I connect CTS of FTDI to JP1.3 Pin 2 (RST) IR will not recognize the RCRP05B UEI remote.

So that is the tested/working layout for RCRP05B (JP1.3):
JP1.3 FT232
RST 2 <-- DTR
GND 3 -- GND
RX 4 <-- TX
nc 5 ...

Al the hex codes named by the arduino irSend library are wrong! Reverse bits or not, the DVD player will not accept them.

So I did go the hard way and learned the codes into the RCRP05B sending them with the known values from arduino (the original remote is not available).

Now I got a somewhat ...

On my desk I am definitely using the DTR line of the FT232L (at least the pin is labeled with that).

What I found irratic is the jp1xtest app. It is useless within win7 x64. The tool opens and closes a new window very fats and I can not read the output. But more worst is that the CMD window used to ...

[Solved] using barebone FT232 USB-Serial adapter for JP1.x

Hello

I just would like to confirm that
JP1.3 FT232
RST 2 <-- DTR
GND 3 -- GND
RX 4 <-- TX
nc 5
TX 6 --> RX

works very well.

I just made a simple cable connecting the right pins and tested on Win7x64. The FT232 driver was installed automatically. After changing the virtual serial port to use ...

Arduino code gives wrong hex codes

The arduino code I used to find the hex values accepted by the device uses wrong NEC notation:

http://www.remotecentral.com/cgi-bin/mboard/pro_remotes/thread.cgi?196 helped me:

The bits are reversed:
40BF48B7 turns into 02FD12ED

bits:
40=01000000
02=00000010

48=01001000
12=00010010

NEC sends a ...

RemoteMaster: How to enter NEC v1 hex codes directly

Hello

thanks for this great software tools. I got a RCA RCRP05B and try to enter the hex codes for the missing Blaupunkt IVDP-01 remote.

I have a list with hex codes and the device ID:
Blaupunkt IVDP-01 NEC1 0x10ef
Name Dezimal Hex Name Dezimal Hex Name Dezimal Hex

Many thanks for the answer.

I believe it should be

JP1.3 FT232
RST 2 <-- DTR
GND 3 -- GND
RX 4 <-- TX
nc 5
TX 6 --> RX

I found some other 'hints' and your pinout seems OK. I read that every outgoing RS232 signal is good for JP13-Pin2. So not only DTR can be used but also RTS. AFAIK the JP1.x ...

[solved] Using a FTDI Board to interface JP1

Hello

sorry for this question, but I am confused on some of the technical infos I find here.

I have a Blaupunkt car DVD player (IVDP-01). The remote is lost and connot be delivered any more. With the help of an universal remote, I found it uses NEC v1 IR protocol. I did an arduino IR sender and ...
