Pressing "POWER" sends discrete offs to all my devices.

Pressing "TV" sends disceets to the Amplifier for the correct inputs
and sets device to "SAT" turns on TV etc

Pressing "DVD ...

I had a problem with RMIR for a while too , I could only communicate with the remote using IR under Windows 7.
I'm not sure why RMIR suddenly started working for me, maybe I reinstalled the FTDI driver. My driver version is 2.8.30.0 if this is of any help

Really if the TV button is a macro and then the first step in the macro is to call the TV button again, how is that supposed to work.

I agree , this is confusing but it actually works. (in my case)

It's as if , when the Device button is physically pressed it calls the Macro, but when called from ...

The reason I'm writing though is that I one of the things that RMIR trains you to do is not necessarily the best. That is you have all the HDMI selections in TV mode. Instead of doing it that way, think of putting the HDMI selection in its proper device mode, So instead of using 5 shifted phantoms ...

Yes I have now set up something similar with my macros on the phantoms and keymoved to the device button...works very well thanks.

I have also done this with the power button so whenever this is pressed (unshifted) it sends discrete off commands to all my devices whatever mode it is in. (whether ...

The instructions you read were for working with IR, not RMIR.

Ah yes!! thank you Vicky thats right, when I first started I could never connect to my remote with RMIR only IR for some reason , then at some point switched to RMIR and continued upgrading in the same way.

RMIR allows me to upload ...

Ok I downloaded your Naim upgrade and opened it as a device in a 7950 RMIR image.

It looks complete and has the shifted number buttons configured as discrete power commands as you described, so would you explain further?

Until recently I had always been doing an upgrade by cutting and pasting ...

Ok thanks guys...

But going back to my example from before

I tried to put
discrete off-->shift 0 key
discrete on-->shift 1 key

but have discovered that for some reason it doesn't like the shifted functions, as it adds keymove stuff to the clipboard data.

If I delete below the stuff in red ...

OK thanks once again...learnt something new
I didnt realize you could edit directly in RMIR, I had been using "Remotemaster" in the same directory then copying the data from the output tab of "Remotemaster" to the raw input of "RMIR", this is where the Keymove stuff wont import.

I have put a Naim ...

:D Thankyou so much!!!! that works

previously I had shifted Device macros that sent all the discrete codes to power on the Tv, turn on the Amp, set the inputs which worked ok but wanted one touch to set up an activity.

Now following your great instructions (thanks again) I assigned the macro to ...

Hi Tranx

Tv's Discrete Input commands did not work on the Device Select Buttons unless they were applied by keymoving their EFC5 codes to the buttons.

Could you please explain to me how you did this

I have the 7940 and the 7930 which I have put 6 pin headers in both (drilled in 7930) and ...

URC-7541 Arduino 2560 interface

Hello all and thanks for reading.

I am still very green when it comes to JP1 but find it quite addictive
and after finding an old URC-7541 remote behind the "Wicker Whatnot" I
decided to try and extend my learning by trying to build the JP1 eeprom
interface using the Arduino 2560 here (using ...

What would you need to do something to the 7940 RDF? Is there possibly something useful which I could post from 7950?
Can I supply a file from the 7940 that would be useful to anyone?
