I have a feeling that it is some different communication protocol on this remote. The remote does have WOW! cable company silk screened on top & it doesn't have JP1.3 silk screened on the PCB, so maybe they made some changes just for WOW!.
Another boat anchor for me. I must have a dozen remotes ...

Yeah, pin 1 is Vdd and I wouldn't get the blinking LED on the remote when checking the interface with the IR program if it were missing.
I'm thinking I have to figure out how to open the 1056 up to probe around in there. I'm concerned that the code on the remote's MCU somehow doesn't respond to JP1 ...

1056B03 Failed to open JP1.x interface
Hello all,
I just bought a pair of 1056B03 remotes on Ebay, but cannot get them to recognize the JP1.x interface. They do not have the JP1.3 silkscreened on the PCB, but do have the JP1 connector.
I get two blinking LED flashes and "Failed to open JP1.x interface" with the IR program and nothing ...
