yup....creating the keymore didn't work. the rest of the functions (power, etc) seem to work fine. it's just the vid7 discrete code that didn't take. however, your suggestion from my other post seemed to work pretty well. i think it'll make a nice workaround until i can get this issue resolved. :)

hmmm...that's an interesting trick....i think that may actually work. great idea...i'll give it a try. thanks!

but if anyone has ideas on how to get the vid7 code, i'd still like to utilize it. :)

hi all -

i tried this with my urc-8811 remote, but it didn't appear to work. anyone have any guesses? i know the original poster was using a 15-2116 but i wasn't sure if that mattered.

i did make sure to change my remote type before copying the data from km to ir.

thx,

ted

sony tv, video 7 input, and urc-8811

hi all -

i'm trying to find a discrete code for the video7 (hdmi) input on my sony 60xs955.

i've searched the files section and downloaded every sony file. the only one that even powered on my tv was the "Sony_KV-35V68_Upgrade_8910" file - but that only goes to video6. the rest of them wouldn't ...

OK, you are saying the Power button or Play button acts as the Power toggle and shift-Power or Stop does nothing, right? yep, that's exactly what's happening. From Off, you should try the discrete input commands (the numerals) and also every button on the OEM remote. Many receivers will turn on and ...

wow, first and foremost, i want to say "thanks" for helping me out. you've already gone above and beyond ... so i really appreciate it.

i upgraded ir to 5.0 and opened your onkyo test file. the power ON works, but *not* the power OFF. the volume and numeric keys work as well. when i hit the power ...

thx jon.

i don't think my very first step was to download from remote. what am i downloading??? i know for sure that i'm loading the file into km, then copying the stuff to ir using the ADD button, then uploading to remote.

i've done this with other files and it's worked perfectly. anyway, i'm ...

I'm surprised none of the files that you downloaded worked because those are common device codes for Onkyo i thought that too. i guess it's possible i somehow didn't upload the file correctly to the 8811, but i dunno. maybe i'll try again tonight.

in any case, i was also wondering ... do i really ...

okay, i'm working on building the file and have a couple of q's.

1. should my remote ever have the same device #, but more then one sub-device #? in my case, my device = 210, but my sub-devices = 108 & 109. i also noticed that one of my buttons appear to have a totally different device.

2. how do ...

discrete power codes for older onkyo

hi all -

i have an onkyo tx-sv646, which is a few years old. i did a search and tried several of the onkyo files, but no luck - the discrete codes didn't seem to work. i also did a search for related threads, but didn't find anything that i could figure out. :)

so, i guess i can try building one ...
