That EFC worked perfectly - just had to edit it to 00170 for the RCRP05B. Thanks! I'll pull the upgrade and see what else I can add.

RCRP05B, Windows Media Center (DVD code 1972) and star key

I'm using my RCRP05B with Media Center in Windows 7. All essential buttons, but one, are included in the built-in DVD code 1972. However, there is one key missing from the 1972 code set...the key is marked on the original WMC remote as *, but enters the "." for digital subchannels. I want to assign ...

So you have to basically find the "ON" commands for the various RCA devices that correspond to those inputs you want to control.

That make sense...I guess that the original remote sent out those commands whenever you pushed the device button, and the TV setup then tells it to look for those ...

I'm fairly certain my issues last night were an ID-10T error on my end. :D
Is that your license plate ??? :)

Ouch...

Just uploaded mdavej's upgrade for the Insignia Blu-Ray player, works perfectly with the latest RDF/map (submitted by R2-M0, last updated December 12, 2009).

But ...

mdavej,

I'm fairly certain my issues last night were an ID-10T error on my end. :D

I am still new to this whole game and learning as much as I can. Hopefully I can contribute something useful to this forum eventually!

You don't need advanced codes, if you have a JP1 cable you can load te upgrade for the Blu-Ray into the remote:

I found that file before, but when I uploaded it last night, some of the buttons did strange things when controlling ...

My cable arrived yesterday. I can also confirm that the CBL/SAT device button can be reprogrammed to another device using IR.exe. It's operating my VCR like a charm now. Just make sure to unlock the channel control...

I'm a JP1 newbie, so I'm still playing around with programming my remote. All of ...

Re: Observations on the RCA RCRP05B Remote's Behavior

In general, there seems to be an (odd, IMHO) affinity in this remote for the "CBL"/"SAT" mode, as several of the manufacturer's design decisions seem to assume that you'll have that mode active primarily.

I'm currently noticing this...I'm trying to reassign the CBL button to another function ...
