I'm planning on cracking one of these open to add the learning components.
I've opened many remotes so the basics are no problem, but just wondered if there are any gotchas I should be aware of with the Atlas. Also it would be helpful if anyone can point out where around the perimeter the latch ...

In everyday use, I will very rarely(if ever) need to use the keypad, so I feel it's such a waste of battery power and a nuisance to have to push a button to activate the keys and turn on a light(that I don't even need).

urc-6690 coding question (wake-up)
This is in regard to the irritating "feature" of having to press a key to wake the remote after a short period of inactivity. I think that this should be changed to only effect the touchpad area. The "hard" keys should work as intended all the time, and also when pushed, do not need to turn the ...

I noticed a bug today with IR7b3. I have the URC-6690B00 and the manual says it will allow up to 10 channels to be entered into the channel scan queue. At somewhere around the 20(dec) bytes IR trips an error condition saying "the fav/scan list contains too many entries. The list will be truncated ...

I also noticed that I was unable to get a keymove to work on a shifted number key (i.e. shift+1, shift+2....etc), but it worked fine on other shifted keys, so there must be some sort of limitation on those keys. In an unextended remote you need to press shift twice with the numeric buttons (shift ...

There are two versions of this remote floating around. One is the URC-6690 (with less buttons) and the URC-6692 (with more buttons). Internally they are both the same. Here is the updated RDF, maps and images for both of them.

I can't speak for atlas but my 6690 has a slightly different button arangement than the provided image (Pg+ and Pg- where the CC is and CC is moved to the bottom) but that seems to be known since the extra buttons are on the keymap.

URC-6690B00
Does anyone know the differences (other than just button arrangement) between the URC-6690 and URC-6690B00? I picked up a URC-6690B00, but I am having problems with key assignments when trying to use the regular URC-6690 rdf and RM v1.77 and IR700beta3. Does the B00 model require a different rdf or ...
