Whenever I start IR 7.11 it seems to default to the JP1 Parallel. I use a JP1 USB and would prefer to make that the default.

Is there a way to do that? I can see it is being set in the registry but it seems to ignore the setting on startup.

Rickety,

Occasionally my IR jumps back to parallel, and I haven't figured out what I'm doing differently to have this happen sometimes and not others. Normally I start IR and then select a .ir file and the interface remains constant. However, sometimes IR will start giving me errors that make me panic, only to find that the interface has reverted to parallel.

What operating system are you using?

Do you start it by clicking on a .IR file, or on the IR.exe?

I've updated to IR7.13 to fix this issue.

Thanks for the effort Binky, but 7.12 seems to need FTD2xx.dll and I don't have one handy.

Sad

Thanks for the suggestion Vicky. My copy is absolutely consistent, it always starts at JP1.Parallel Now I used to have a parallel connection and wondered if I had set something that caused that to default.

THe registry entry shows 0 when starting.

When I change it to JP!.USB the registry is updated to 2, but that is overwritten to zero again when the program starts from what I can see.

I don't know what FTD2xx.dll is, but you can download it from here:

That's part of the FTDI device drivers for some USB JP1.x cables. I've released IR7.13 which removes this requirement.
