JP1 Remotes

So I am a JP1 user and am currently using my JP1 (and Harmonys etc) to operate a device that I design/build/sell. Not sure about the policy so I'll refrain from putting the name of it unless asked. In any case it has a direct (wired IR, xantech, etc) input. At the moment I use my JP1 profile and the IR.exe program to operate it and everything is fine. One of the customers asked me to supply the IR codes and I did, but they wrote back and said they needed them in a format and provided the following Example:

Audio = 00 01 B5 00 54 A0 00 23 00 01 00 00 01 00 00 02 0F FF

This would be the code for the Audio key on a Sony DVD player. But I don't recognize that format or how to create it from what I have, which is basically device Id, Function Id

Can anyone help? How do I read this? And How do I convert the device id and function Id to this format?

If i had to take a wild guess I'd say it's pronto in HEX rather than binary.

It is definitely not Pronto Hex. (I have no clue what you might mean by "rather than binary").

I'm pretty sure it is not the other Pronto format (similar to Neo Hex) that is used inside the XML files for NG Prontos (translated to/from Pronto Hex by ProntoEditNG).

I checked a few other obscure IR formats I know about and none of them match.

So I don't recognize the format.

It was just a guess. If you say it's not pronto in any format I'm sure your right. =)

Actually now that you mention it, the person inquiring did tell me that this system (I think he said RTI) uses XML files to store the hex data. I thought maybe it was on and off times, bit times, etc, but I could not get any of them to make sense.

I didn't follow all those links far enough to see if any described RTI's hex format. But several of those links say that RTI can import Pronto Hex (which you can generate with MakeHex).

So if your customer has RTI equipment, he probably can use Pronto Hex instead of the format he sent you.
