I'm new to JP1 and haven't gotten a remote yet to start experimenting with. What remote would you all suggest? I have a minimal number of components (DVD, VCR, and TV. A/V receiver went up in smoke a month ago Crying or Very sad ) But I'd like something I could grow into with plenty of buttons to experiment with macros (even though I don't really need them at this point). Thanks! Very Happy

You will get a lot of recommendations from this group but the basic question you need to first ask youself is how much you want to spend. On the bright side the most expensive jp1able remote is about $80 US.

A couple of good ones to start with are the URC-8812w from WalMart for about $20, the RS-2116 or 2117 from Radio Shack for about $30, or the URC-8910 or 9910 for about $40. All of these are jp1 ready out of the box and all have extenders available for advanced functionality.

After you choose the remote you need to either build a cable or buy a ready made one which you can find vendors for in the market place on this forum

Good luck
