Extender makes macroed signals too fast to be recognized

I've got a 8910, with extender installed. The readme for the extender has a section titled "fast macros" which says "I reduced both the hold time and the delay time for commands in a macro."

Long story short: keys in macros are not recognized by my DVD player. If I keep pressing the button, it will eventually recognize it, but this isn't a super workable solution. Is there any way to get the 8910 with extender to send "normal" signals?

I've run through the tests described in troubleshooting: "When you press that key, the function is not last, so the duration will be minimum. If that introduces the failure you know it's a duration problem (there are then a variety of approaches to fixing it)."

It does. The readme mentiones "a variety of approaches" but not what they are.

The simplest possible workaround to try is use 2 or three repeats of the functions that aren't "taking" inside the macro. Sometimes that is enough, but sometimes that doesn't work, if your equipment doesn't see those repeated signals as a single continuous signal.

Option 2 is to replace the DVD player upgrade with one using the Device Combiner Special Protocol (selectable in KM or RM). It requires that your regu;ar DVD upgrade use single-byte signals, but if so, the Device Combiner allows you to adjust the duration of each function you create on the Functions sheet.

Option 3 requires an expert to tweak the protocol of your DVD device (whether it's built-in or an upgrade) to increase the duration of the signal generated by that protocol.

If you tell us what DVD setup code or upgrade you are using and provide links to your KM (or RM) and IR files, somebody can provide more specific advice.

You can use the pause protocol to insert pauses.

As I read the OP, pause is not the issue, duration is.

Thanks for the suggestions. I've been playing with the combiner protocol. It's not quite perfect yet but it's definitely better.

Well, so what's the DVD make? What protocol does it use?
