Thanks to all here, I now have an atlas remote that does almost everything I want it to do... I have one remaining issue and I am not sure which way to go to solve it...
I want the master power button to toggle power on both my receiver and tv regardless of the mode I was in previously. Currently, this only works when I am in cable.. otherwise it controls only my TV..
I was wondering if I should use the extender to get this functionality correct, but when I uploaded an extended ir, the remote behaved rather strangely (the device buttons just did not do what I expected them to do...
I have uploaded 2 IR files, one called extended and one called TogglePower here http://www.hifi-remote.com/forums/dload.php?action=file&file_id=5429
with my unextended power macro and my attempt at the extended remote.
Any help or guidance on this sure would be appreciated |

This JP1.3 extender is still in Beta, and has identified issues with device selection and the behaviour of the device buttons. I haven't had much luck using macros on the device buttons aside from standard device-selection macros. I don't know what to recommend to you besides patience. _________________ Beginners - Read this thread first

What about the power button behavior on the unextended Atlas?
Is there any trickery I could use to make it not behave in the manner that it does? |

I think putting macros on your device buttons is causing the problems. When you change devices in your power macro, it may be running other macros instead. Why not put your macros on the shifted device buttons? It only adds one extra button press and allows the device buttons to otherwise behave normally.
Also it's more logical to have the keymove for your reciever power on the audio device, not the TV. Then change devices in your power macro. If it weren't a phantom key, I'd agree with the way you've done it. But in this case it only adds confusion. If on the other hand, it comes from your upgrade and is an external function, of course, leave it as is. |

Did you disable the Master Power macro function?
SETUP
9-9-5 (Last selected dev key 2 blinks)
Press & release POWER
SETUP (2 blinks)
Make sure your setup control locks in IR are OFF
You should then be able to assign a macro to the power key to do what you want. |
