New to this site, I am looking for info on how to get my comcast remote to allow me to change the picture size (16:9, scan, wide fit). I did use the search function but could not find what I was looking for. I understand that I can use 5 digit codes to program certain functions. Really all I want from the comcast remote is to have the "HD ZOOM" button allow me to stretch the picture when not watching a HD channel, in other words from wide fit to 16:9 and vice versa. A forum member was able to give me the 16:9 code which was 00204 and I was able to assign that to the hd zoom button. Would anyone happen to know the code for 'wide fit'? Thank you for any help. |

Try Set, 0, 0, 0, 6, 2 and see if that cycles you through the modes. |

00185 causes it to scroll thru the inputs. Code worked but it just will go from HDMI to another input. |

I think these might be of some help. I just have no idea what wide fit might be.
set, 0,0,2,0,7 panarama
set,0,0,1,0,7 zoom1
set,0,0,2,0,9 zoom2
set,0,0,2,1,1 4:3 |

00211 will only make it go to 4:3. The other codes did not do anything. |

00022 did it. Assigned it to the hd zoom button and bam it worked. Cycles thru all of the picture sizes. Thank you very much for your help. I know it was not that difficult but I never would have figured that out. Gotta love the internets. |

You should really check out the other samsung upgrades. I found that my TV had lots of great features that were not on the original remote. I could change the picture source and channel on the PIP.
You've only just begun. |

I can control everything else on the tv from the comcast remote, the picture size was the only thing I could not change but now that I can, no need to have the samsung remote by my side at all times. |

Spoken by a person who has not been bitten very hard by the JP1 bug! You haven't even begun to explore how nice your remote can be. But beware, this stuff can become totally addicting. I'm not sure which comcast we are talking about here, but the 1067A has just been extended with bunches of extra features. LKP's, DSM's, ToadTogs...... |

Don't get me wrong, I am not putting anything down. Just saying the only reason I had to have my samsung remote closeby was to quickly switch from 16:9 to wide fit modes. Now I can do that with the comcast remote. I mean what are a few of the possibilities that you are speaking of? |

Well first of all, are you fully aware of the macro capabilities of your remote? You're such a noob, I'm not sure if you even have found those yet.
You've got equipment loaded with discretes and may have hidden features. Many of them on the PIP functions. My original remote didn't have PIP Ch+ and Ch-, but my TV supports both of those, as well as source swapping on the PIP.
If you have the JP1.2 version of the comcast you can really make your system hum with an extender. Then you can do things like have the remote run different macros depending on how you press the keys.
I've got my system tightly tuned. Its so easy to operate that guests can come in and get at features that you'd have to navigate all those complicated menus to get at. For example, when I press mute, my TV turns on closed caption, and my TV and my receiver both mute. |

Ok well thanks for the news flash that I am a "noob" when it comes to this remote control. Samsung tv is just for the bedroom and I have it hooked up to a simple hk surround sound system. Why would you even mute the tv and stereo at the same time? When I hit mute, the reciever mutes. No intention of this thread turning into a argument, just wanted to know how to use the picture size on the remote and now that has been accomplished so thank you for the code and letting me know that I am as you put it a noob. |
