My old, and venerable, 5 year old R/S 15-1994 remotes are beginning to die on me.
I have extensively re-programmed my 1994's (device combiner codes, etc) and have very much enjoyed the experience.
What newer, widely available, similiar JP1 remotes (already having 6-pin plugs) should I be considering if I'm going to invest the time/trouble into re-programming?
Appreciate any and all comments.
Thanks

The Atlas Ocap is NOT a JP1 remote, its a JP1.3 remote. Look at the models Rob sells.

I'd say the URC-8910 is the closest JP1 to your 1994 that's still widely available. Should be an easy transition.

I know there's a difference in JP1 / JP1.X, but I figured when he said "JP1" he meant any sort of JP1-ish 6pin programmable remote. After all, we don't have separate forums for JP1 and JP1X hardware or software...

Sorry Brit, I just didn't want cmark to go for an Atlas, only to find his interface was of no use. The comment was to clarify your answer.

Those Ocaps sure seem to be popular.

Thank you all for very prompt and informed comments.
Since there are so many remotes out there, it is great to have some info to help narrow down the field.
I will look into the Atlas OCAP 1056 and URC-8910. Also any that Rob is selling, I didn't know he was in that business too.
I have been away from this so long I didn't even know there was a JP1.X interface. I managed to make my old interface so that's not out of the question.
Thanks again, it's nice to know there is a community out there.

Or, you could do what I do and buy 15-1994s as they come up on ebay.

I find the 8810 to be capable, and a pretty easy transfer from the 15-1994, but it has too many little tiny keys for my big fat fingers. The OCAP is better, but a bit on the butt-ugly side. OTOH it has 4K+
