Check to make sure your transistors are oriented correctly, with the base, emitter, and collector connected properly.

Maybe it's just a colour reproduction thing in your photo's but are all those resistors the correct values? |

to be honest i dont know. i asked the shop for the ones listed in tommy's guide but they didnt seem too sure - and as i don't know about components i couldn't tell you. Kinda hoping somone here would know. |

Can we go back to the start?
What computer are you using?
What operating system? (and is it 32-bit or 64-bit?).
Does the serial port work properly for other devices?
Are you using the latest version of IR and are all the RDF's installed in the correct directory, etc>? |

Resistor values aren't hard to figure out. It just can be hard from bad pictures. |
i think you're right. The supposed qty.3 100K resistors have a green band this makes them 10,000,000 Ohms resistors instead of 100,000 Ohms. Right, i have been back to store and told them to look in the drawer labeled "10M resistor" and voila there are the 100K resistors with an orange band instead of the green banded 10M resistors. They are so stupid that, after informing them of their error, they still refused to put the correct resistors into the correct boxes so that the same mistake wouldn't happen again. They charged me for the replacements but charged the 10M price despite now supplying 100K resistors - that was good of them! ( i know they don't cost much but that wasn't the point!)
Will fit 100K tonight and fingers crossed it should now work. Hopefully this is my last question on this subject. Will using the 10M resistors have damaged anything? components, remote or PC?
Thanks everyone for all your input much appreciated. |

Glad to hear you got everything sorted out with your interface. _________________ Mark |
