Hi.
The Speakercraft MZC-88 allows you to export a buttons IR Code in Pronto Hex. When I decode this with IR.exe it reports the protocol as the following.

Gap-547-1667-32? (question mark also reported)
The Device, OBC and EFC numbers are given OK.

Here are the exported codes.

If I learn one of these codes with my URC8910 it takes up a lot of memory so I can't learn the number of commands I need.

Is there a Protocol Upgrade for the above?

This is an NEC variant where the first 3 bytes are all zeroes and the final byte contains the OBC. Someone would need to create a new executor using PB in order to recreate these signals.

If anyone were to do this, they'd need to see your IR file with as many learned samples as possible (plus your verification that the learns works).

I have attached my IR file with some learned codes in the Diagnosis section. I have tested the codes and they work fine.

The file is called MZC-88TEST.IR

The S3C8+ is your 8910's processor, not the HCS08, so use the second one.

Thanks for your help so far guys.
The Protocol Upgrade works but the function codes didn't work correctly.
However I went back to Rob's note about the final Byte containing the OBC and that works correctly with the Protocol Upgrade you posted.
(for Device Code 0)
This all works for Zone 1 of this Multizone controller.
When I look at the codes for Zone 2 - 8 the OBC numbers are the same.
So I went looking for the Device code numbers. Is the third byte the device code?
(see examples below)


(I now realise that the Device code was not decoded correctly
when I began looking at this.)

Does this make sense for Device code numbers maybe? sorry I'm a bit of a novice with this stuff.
I will try this out when I get there next, but if someone knows just by looking at that, I'd be greatful.

I just took your .IR file and looked for a pattern. You have 4 bytes and it seemed to match 0.X.0.OBC where X was OBC-30 if OBC>=48 else use 0.

You'll have to look thru All of your signals in IR.exe to deduce a pattern. If you can come up with a pattern, I can modify the protocol to handle it.
