RS 15-2117 newbie needs help with adding Samsung HT-DB600

RS 15-2117 newbie needs help with adding Samsung HT-DB600
I just got the RS 15-2117 and love it! But I have the Samsung HT-DB600 HTIB system, which the remote does not have a device code for. Is there a way that I can control this device without having to get a JP1 cable? The whole process seems complicated to me, as I am by no means a hacker. If there is no way I can get the remote to control my device without JP1, is there anyone out there who would do it for me for a reasonable cost?

Shipping a remote costs about $1.50 I think. So shipping it two ways is $3.00. For $11 more, you could buy the $14 www.hovisdirect.com JP1 cable, and have a world of fun setting up your remote the way you would like it.
As luck would have it, your samsung ht db600 has already been set up by another JP1 user. If you would like to look at the upgrade, it is here.
I am not trying to prevent my fellow JP1ers from making a few bucks. But if you would like to try this yourself, most of the work is already done for you.
We are a helpful bunch over here and anyone would be happy to help you, whatever you decide.
Note for future reference: Certain phrases, such as "..without having to get a JP1 cable." may result in one of us exploding. Or melting. Sort of like the witch that had water thrown on her in the wizard of oz. Or perhaps it is more like um, .. oh, reading the bible backwards in church.
