URC8210 problem

Post by gertc »

I saw that there exists an RDF file for my URC-8210 (dating 30/04/2007, from the software section on this forum). However, it seems that RM 1.82 fails to load that file. In RM I can select whatever remote, except the URC-8210. And if I point RM to a directory containing nothing else but the URC-8210 rdf, it says that it can't find any. So I assume there is some problem with this RDF, however without any error message it's impossible for me to find out what goes wrong.
I also noticed that there is no image and no .map file for this remote. I have the remote here, so if you want pictures, just ask!

solved

Just after posting this message, I solved my own problem: the filename of the rdf had an underscore in it, and RM doesn't seem to like that. Now I get Java nullpointer errors, probably because map and image don't exist.

I created images and maps; they are available
here
However, be warned that the RDF file in that package is does contain serious errors. And as long as the jp1.x cables are out of stock at DIYgadgets, I will not be able to correct it. (Actually, I might not be able to do it afterwards either...)

Wow, you've really dived into this. It sounds like you've been bitten hard by the JP1 bug. This is one of the most addictive hobbies I've ever encountered.

Good Luck with your 8210.
