A few questions:
(1) Do I need to run any of the batch files included with an extender if I want to start over from scratch with the remote?
(2) How do I know for sure if I've successfully upgraded the remote?
(3) The installation readme included with the extender talks about pre-configured macros and pre-installed device upgrades TV/1800 and protocol 180 (necessary for extending). But I don't see any of these loaded by default.
(4) Can you send me your config .TXT file so I can see what one looks like?
(5) What does this mean (from the readme)?
Quote: | Initial device selection state is non-deterministic. Be sure to
press a device button (a button with a device selection macro)
before first use. |
(5) Usability-wise, is this upgrade worth doing? Am I correct in assuming that you have to shift into new components and macros?
Thanks! |

I've got an 8810w with the 3.1 extender and have it controlling many devices including the ReplayTV 5080. It works great and it cleaned the clutter of remotes off my coffee table. |

Viv's referring to the extender for the ReplayTV OEM remote, in other words, the remote that came with your RTV 5040. _________________ Rob
