I have a question about programming macros on a 7562 (With Extender).
If I program the macro onto one of the A to H buttons it works OK, but what I need to do is have the macro programmed onto either a device button or a shifted number button. The macros are going to power up/down and mute/unmute various devices depending upon the viewing configuration I need. They need to be available in any device mode.
Is there any way I can do what I need?

A macro is limited to 15 steps. Some extenders let you concatenate macros, some of the others let you nest macros. Either of those would let one user keypress trigger more than 15 steps.
I think the 7562 needs an extender in order to program macros on device buttons.
You don't need an extender to have a macro on a shifted digit, but to use a shifted digit without an extender requires that you press the setup key (I forget what setup is called on a 7562) twice rather than just once as required to shift a non digit.

Jon, Solved the problem - think it may be due to a slight difference in functionallity of IR4.01.
I am sure that in previous versions, if I needed a shifted key I ticked the box marked Shift in the Macro tab (Corresponds to my SETUP/MAGIC key). However it now seems I have to tick the MENU option - Confused me as there is a MENU key on the remote and I thought this needed to be pressed.
Not sure if its the program or just a corrupt RDF file - at least I've solved the problem though

I remember my wedding day like it was yesterday.
If it had been tomorrow I wouldn't have turned up!
