I don't recall if the 740 version that we're using is an official UEI protocol or one that we put together ourselves. | Just a little feedback on this item.
I loaded Rob's upgrade into both a 740 and an S3C8 remote, and compared the IR output on a scope. For Power and Mute commands, the output was identical. The volume commands were almost identical although one area has a small timing difference (which may or may not be significant). In any case, I think the 740 version of the protocol is working OK.
Where I did have a problem, however, was that after loading the protocol and upgrade into the 740 remote, it seemed to think the AMP/TUNER/0870 upgrade was invalid, and it reverted to a default setup code (which looks nothing like RC5 or RC5x). I cured this by manually setting the AMP device to AMP/0870 on the remote itself. Then it started working correctly.
So, if you're still interested in getting the 9800 to work for you, you might try doing the manual setup code setting too. _________________ Mike England |
