Hi!
I have a problem with my URC7550. The fact is, that the learn function is not working. I found on this forum the solution with 981 factory reset, but I always get 2 short and 1 long blink. Also opened the remote and checked the connections, seems everything OK.
Any ideas?
Thanks! |

2 short / 1 long means that the remote is unable to communicate with the EEPROM. _________________ Rob

I know, therefore I opened the remote.
Are there any solutions to fix this? What if I change the eeprom? |

Without having your remote in my hands, I can't guess what might be wrong with it, I can just tell you what the symptom means.
If the EEPROM is faulty, then replacing it would fix it.
If the soldering around the EEPROM is faulty, re-soldering it would fix it.
It's also possible that the soldering around the 6-pin is faulty (or shorted).
I'm sure there are other possibilities that I haven't thought of. _________________ Rob

lots of other possibilities. an open/short in the main board, a short on the pins of the micro where it connects to the traces for the EEPROM, a blown port in the micro on the pins for the eeprom, etc.
none of these would be repairable. You may very well be better off getting a new remote! _________________ this JP1 stuff is a sickness! |

Thank you for your quick answers!
I checked the EEPROM connections with the board, they' re OK.
On Monday I'll get a new EEPROM (curiosity ), and if this won't fix the problem, I'll buy a new remote. |
