Did you actually try any of these or did you just dismiss them because the model numbers didn't match? _________________ Rob

If it helps, some of the Foxtel Digital boxes are operated by the BSkyB code which is built into European/Australian remotes - but sadly I don't think built into yours. (Though you could try anyway - UEI sometimes load some upgrades into ROM)
From Rob's excellent devices.dev spreadsheet, the details are:
SAT/0847
PID Hex: 0020
PID Dec: 32
Protocol: RC6-M-20n (ver 1)
Dev 1: 0 Dev 2:0
Fixed Data:E0 00
I can't guarantee this will work with your model, but worth a try.
I'm rushing out of the door at the moment, but I do have remotes with this code built in, and I could learn EFCs to another remote to build an upgrade for you to test if you can't find an upgrade anywhere else.

Jim,
Thanks for your help - I am actually in Sydney, so your upgrade should work for me, however I have never used RM before (I always use KM/IR pair). Looks like a good reason to learn RM...
Rob,
(long time, no post... :)
You are right - I thought I'd try to get the exact match from here first, and then start trying those as a last resort if everything else fails.
Thanks again guys - this should be a good start. |

Trying the other upgrades when you don't find an exact match on model number should be a "first" resort, not a "last" resort. _________________ Rob

There are LOTS of good reasons to learn RM
I should point out that I can't guarantee the upgrade I built will work for you - it's based on my memory that that code worked on a Foxtel digital box we only had for a week or two before we moved (in Austar area now).
This was a satellite box rather than cable - so may be different...
Also since I don't have a box to test it on, I built it "blind" by learning codes from one remote to another.
The function names are from an old version of the URC-7562 Australian manual - you'll have to see what they do - if indeed it works at all...
I don't have time to make a KM upgrade right now - just checking messages before work, but here's a quick cut/paste of the button codes if it helps:
PID Hex: 0020
