If the connectors are spaced correctly that way, I don't see a problem with it. |

I did something similar except that I started with one of those four pin jumper cables made to connect a CD drive to a sound card. There were three wires actually used, red, white and black. I used the red wire to connect JP1 pins 1 and 2, and cut the white and black wires in the center. The 2 white and 2 black wires went to the parallel port connector. I didn't even have to glue the halves together. A wire tie just above the connector bodies holds them together just fine.
