I have a 15-1994 and the backlight is inop. I have taken the cover off and the tranformer is intact. It appears I need a new transformer. I looked at hovis direct and it doesnt seem to be there anymore. Do you think I need a transformer? If so does anybody know where I can buy one? Thanks, Doug _________________ thanks, just4fn |

I think I still have a box of them, I'll let you have one for $10 plus $5 shipping if you're interested.
Of course, I can't guarantee that replacing the transformer will fix your problem as I don't know for sure that that is the root cause. _________________ Rob

Not to revive an OLD post for no reason, but I recently started using my 1994's again, and one only backlights part of the remote - is this typically a transformer issue as well?
Thanks.

The backlight is a single sheet, so it's either getting power or it isn't. If you're is partially working, that would tend to imply that the power transformer is OK. I would suggest opening it up and taking a look to see if the sheet is dirty or damaged. _________________ Rob
