I have a slingbox classic and a Mutant 200s. I found the KM file for the 200s here: http://www.hifi-remote.com/forums/dload.php?action=file&file_id=4434

When I load this into RM to create a bin file I get an error "Invalid Protocol Streamzap for remote URC-7550" and then RM chooses the URC-7550 with no mapping and Acer keyboard protocol. I've looked at the file in KM and it looks ok to me and defines a URC-7560 remote w/ streamzap protocol. I attempted to create the bin by manually entering in the functions from KM into a URC-7560 remote and changing it to JU & PL types then saving a binary for each but I get nothing on the sat box indicating remote controls are being received from the slingbox (the : on the box blinks when remote codes are received)

Can someone take a look at the mutant file and generate a bin from it for me to try out? I'm a little lost as to why it's not working and I've done everything I can think or read of.

Thanks!

Hi

I don't know anything about creating Slingbox files, but I did manage to convert that file into an rmdu which opens in RM without that strange error

It's here:

http://www.hifi-remote.com/forums/dload.php?action=file&file_id=4755

I hope it helps...

If anyone is interested, the method I used to convert it was:

1 Opened the offending upgrade in KM (where it was ok)
2 Created a new IR file for a URC 7560
3 Pasted the upgrade and protocol into IR
4 Saved the IR file
5 Opened the IR file with RM-IR
(see http://www.hifi-remote.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=6741&highlight=rmir)
6 Selected the upgrade in RM-IR, and used edit-save

And then the error went away, and the rmdu file loads ok.

I don't know what was causing the original import to fail in RM.

The problem is that KM calls the protocol "StreamZap" and RM calls is "Streamzap" (with a lowercase Z). I just manually edited the KM file (using Notepad) replacing the Z with a z and then tried opening it with RM and it worked.

Thank You Both for the help! I was able to create the binary from the original file as well as the rmdu file created by jimdun. The new codes work to an extent. The box recognizes them but they are pulsed, sending each command 3 or 4 times. I see the : flash several times and when I try power it turns off then right back on. When I change channels it changes them anywhere from 2 to 4 times. I've tried changing the sending speed on the slingbox from medium to slow and fast and it doesn't seem to make a difference. Is there something in the protocol that would dictate how many pulses are sent?

Thanks again for the wonderful assistance!

Well, I found my answer in the very next post I read in the newbies section that just happened to be on the same box but with a real universal remote! http://www.hifi-remote.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=8469 pointed me in the correct direction and changing the 7th byte in protocols.ini from 85 to 86 did the trick! Only a single pulse except for the ones that should repeat. Thanks to that same great post I also know what to adjust to slow the repeat rate too! Thanks Robman for answering my questions and providing such a great resource!

Binaries are posted here:

That's why you're a genius and I'm just a hack... Laughing

I looked at that file for 10 minutes in notepad without spotting the uppercase Z...

And I'm a programmer - what hope is there ?

Maybe I just like jumping through hoops ?

Glad you got it working, Toonces...
