JP1 Remotes

In the JP1.2 world we are seeing scrambling of the functions assigned to the keys, based on the device setup (thanks binky123), is there a way to

a) fix these mysterious numbers
b) or make a knowledgable assignment of a device setup code to compensate?

I can't seem to find the link, where binky suggested this as a cause. However, I can reproduce the problem by changing setup codes.
