Hi guys,

I was hoping you could give me a steer in the right direction:

1. Device: Samsung DVD-1080P7
2. Type of device: DVD w Progressive Scan, HD Up Conversion
3. Year: 2007, just bought it
4. JP1/UEI Remote model: Outlaw Audio Remote
5. Do you have a JP1 cable? Yes
6. Still have original remote? Yes
7. Checked the file section? Yes, I've tried 4 or 5 of them so far, no luck
8. Checked Pronto file section (at R/C)? Yes, they have 16 devices listed, but none seem to match up with my unit. Should I try the HD models first, like these?
9. Partially working setup code? None found
10. Learning remote question? n/a

So, maybe there's a Samsung model that maps to my 1080P7 ? I'm struggling to find it so far. I originally had a JVC-DVD unit mapped to my AUX1 button along with 4 other devices when I programmed my Outlaw remote a few years ago. But the JVC-DVD went out and I replaced with this Samsung. Any tips on which RDF file to use for this one ?

Much Appreciated,
Darren

Here is a summary of decodes of the ones of those files that I previously decoded. That should cut down on the time it would take you to test which might have the same code set as your model. (All the models using Aiwa:102.0 have the same Play signal, so if one doesn't work none of them will).

I assume you didn't really mean "RDF".

Samsung DVD players tend to fall into two camps, one that uses the Aiwa protocol with a device code of 102 and another that uses the NECx2 protocol with a device code of 5.

Here are some upgrades files, from the file section that are representative of each group...

Samsung DVD HD-841 (uses Aiwa, device 102 - like DVD/0573)

Samsung DVD-HD850 (uses NECx2, device 5)
http://www.hifi-remote.com/forums/dload ... le_id=2660

I'd be inclined to try the HD850 file first as this is an upconversion player.

There are also a couple of files that use custom execs...

Samsung BD-P1000 BluRay (uses $01B5)

Samsung DVD HR725 (uses $015C)

Apparently, it uses the same remote as the DVD-HD960. Here's an RM file for the DVD-HD960:
http://www.hifi-remote.com/forums/dload ... le_id=3507

and here's an almost identical KM file for the DVD-1080P7:
http://www.hifi-remote.com/forums/dload ... le_id=4605

In fact, I just compiled a maste list from all the Samsung files that use Aiwa 102 and while some files have codes that the others don't, all of the main functions match...

Thanks

Excellent, thanks for the help. Rob that KM file worked perfectly for me. I only had to remap one key (SELECT->ENTER), and the rest was exactly as I wanted it. Can't thank you enough for the support.
