While shopping in a Walgreen Drug Store I saw this remote on a clearance sale:
What caught my eye was the SIZE of this thing - 5" x 11" (Remember that a standard sheet of paper is 8-1/2" x 11". This thing is BIG!) Then I read the advertising on the package:
Notice that the second item says: "Replace All Your Devices With This One Hard To Lose Unit."
I walked all over the store laughing the whole time. My wife did get the joke, but thought that I was funnier than the package. I just couldn't resist owning another universal remote. This picture shows the remote compared to my 2116 remote and my hand. Until you try to hold it yourself, you really can't appreciated just how big it is.

As I'm currently searching for 2 lost remotes, this has a certain appeal. If it were JP1, I'd be out getting one right now. |

One of my neighbors has one of those. I checked it out. No jp1, nothing.
You need two hands to pick it up, but you don't have to squint to see what the buttons say. Their dog likes to chew on it but hasn't broken it yet so it must be strong, 'cause we're talking a big dog _________________ Liz

I've seen those at Walgreens too, and I was tempted to buy one as a joke because when my dad comes over, he has a hard time reading the buttons on my remote.
The package says it controls 8 devices, but I only see 5 device buttons. |

Quote: | The package says it controls 8 devices, but I only see 5 device buttons. | I have read the poorly translated instructions and see no way to support more than 5 devices. No macros, no learning. You can use one of the built-in codes or ... that's it. Even though there is a DVD button, the instructions don't list any codes for DVD devices???? Good thing I bought it for it's humor value, not to actually use. |

I think I've figured out what they mean by "controls up to 8 devices". Up in the top right hand corner it says (and count with me)...
"great for your...
1) TV
2) VCR
3) DVD
4) TV/DVD COMBO
5) TV/VCR COMBO
6) VCR/DVD COMBO,
7) SATELLITE, and...
8) CABLE!
That's it, 8 devices. It doesn't say anything about controlling 8 devices AT ONCE! So tell us PH, what did you pay for this thing? _________________ Rob

The price was $12.99. I will put it in the storage cabinet with my pet rock. |
