|
|
Hi
I finally made the interface cable using the 74HC125 and have used it to download from the URC-9910.
I'm getting a checksum error:
- expect $71 $E8, get $10 $EF.
I have changed the code for TV to 0054 but ir.exe displays 0047, and set VCR to 0032 but ir.exe displays 0060.
I reset the remote to factory defaults, and the display changes as the manual indicates it should. However the TV and VCR buttons are not restored to factory, and the learned keys are not unlearned. This behavior was noted before using the interface.
The first time I used the interface was under wine on a linux box. No problem with checksum was reported. However I forgot to disconnect the remote before turning off the computer. When I disconnected the remote it displayed "memory error". It still seems to work OK controlling the TV and VCR.
Have I damaged the remote?
Can I recover?
TIA
Jim

Hard to troubleshoot without seeing files, but... have you done an MFR reset?
(Press and hold "SET", then press "REC" and follow the prompts) _________________ Beginners - Read this thread first

Thanks. That fixed things.
It seems they forgot to mention SET / REC in the manual.
What *is* said, is SET / OPS RESET, which appears to do the right thing according to the display, but does nothing I can detect.

The MFR reset is not documented for reasons known only to UEIC, but it does a complete clear of the EEPROM, which the documented OPS reset does not. _________________ Beginners - Read this thread first
