Help with Samsung DVD/VCR NECx2/NECx protocol

I have learned all the keys for a Samsung DVD-V3500 DVD/VCR combo unit. All of the keys except (power, 1,2,3) are (protocol, device, subdevice) NECx2,5,5. The power key and the 1,2,3 key are NECx,7,7. I am trying to create a new device using keymapmaster and I'm not sure how to do it with these 2 different protocols/devices. Any help would be appreciated.

I think KeyMoves are the simplest solution. Create your upgrade with all the 5.5 functions, then:

If you have a new enough model remote to include TV/0618 or TV/0702 (which are both NECx2 7.7) then define the other 4 keys as keymoves on the built in setup code. Otherwise, create/install a second upgrade for 7.7, with no buttons assigned and use it for the KeyMoves.

If you really hate KeyMoves then use the Device Combiner protocol.

There is an upgrade for a Samsung combo DVD/VCR unit (DVD V7070) over in the Yahoo Files section. I can't imagine it would differ too significantly. It uses NEC-31 (which is NEC 1, 5.5, parm=31) but has no 7.7 functions. It still might be worth a try. Check out Samsung DVD-V7070.txt in this folder.

I too have the V3500 and have struggled to get my URC-8910 programmed for it. Does anyone have an upgrade file for this DVD/VCR combo? I tried learning the keys, but got weird codes in IR (protocols all over the map, strange key codes) and have yet to get anything to work.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. This is the only device that I have not been able to get programmed into my remote!

Did you try the 7070 upgrade?

Step 1 with strange learns is to upload the IR file (with sufficient notes) to the diagnosis section of the file area and post a link to it here (assuming
(a) you're learning technique is not at fault, and
(b) you have the latest decodeIR.dll file where IR.exe can locate it, and
(c) all of your batteries are good
- I guess that makes uploading it Step FOUR )
