Touch screen remotes with JP1 connector?

Post by zapdog »

I was wondering if there is a list of JP1 compatable remotes that have a touch screen interface.

Is this even a reasonable request?

Thanks,

The only true JP1 touchscreen is the discontinued Radio Shack 15-2107 remote. Plus, there's also the "Kameleon" remotes. The Kameleon models are:

OFA URC-9960 (US)
OFA URC-8060 (Europe)
RS 15-2133

last i saw the 2107 was clearanced priced at 20 or 30 bux. Not sure if any RS's have any, but it wasn't published so it may not have been noticed. Originally it was like 99.00. RS will do a store search availability and get one to your local RS for you if it finds one.

Just a hint, a couple weeks ago the Rawlins (or was it Riverton?), Wyo had 4 or 5 of these left. I'm pretty sure the price was close to 20.00. Supposedly that RS moves more stuff than any other Rs in the US. Considering the town(s) (I know them both) I find that a bit tuff to swallow.

I have a 2107 that I currently use in my bedroom. I got it for $30 about 6 months ago. I didn't think there were any left around here.

Anyhow I don't particularly like it for the bedroom. There are no buttons to feel in the dark. The display lights up but you actually have to look at it to operate it. It also eats batteries.

On the other hand for $20 if you can find one it is one heck of a remote. I would probobly buy another for $20 if I could find one. I definately wouldn't pay over $40 for one though.
