Check interface works but upload/download doesn't

Post by oxenman2006 »

 I recently needed to dig out my jp1 cable to try and reprogram my wally world 881x remote. It took me 4 days to get it to pass the check interface test. The check interface is working now. When I try to upload/download I get the following message "did not receive a response(acknowledgement) from the remote after sending bus address (ErrNo=6,Param=0)
What might this error mean?
A cable rebuild?
Which version of the JP1 software seems to have the least problems?
thanks

It's not an issue with the software. Is this a homemade cable or one that you purchased? If it's an old cable, it probably has 10k resistors and a regular signal diode whereas the current design calls for 1k resistors and a Schottky diode.

Also, have you tried all of the variations with the batteries?

About to give up on JP1 cable

Post by oxenman2006 »

I have rebuilt my jp1 cable. It still doesn't seem to work. With the 1k resistors and diode I still get the same bus address error. I did notice at interface check that the remote flashes twice after it says it passed. At an upload attempt just after It's bus address failure statement I also see the remote flash twice after the failure It almost looks like a timing issue I have tried various transmission delay settings????

Do you know if any of the professionally built jp1 cables will be available anywhere soon?

Don't waste your time and money on a "professionally built" JP1 cable. From the description of your problem there's a 95% chance there's nothing wrong with your cable. It's hard for us to help with so little information. Read your messages.
