JP1 Remotes

I was wondering if anything more has happened here? I have some programming experience and I would like to learn more. I'm having issues loading my usb driver on my work XP laptop so I thought I would try to offer any assistance I can.

I tried to download the IR source from the yahoo files section but I can't seem download them.

Has someone started to make a cvs source directory or something? It would be nice if there was maybe a sourceforge project or something.

I can get remote master to work but of course that doesn't help me download/upload to my remote.

Has there been any research into the format used for over-the-phone upgrades? If the format were known, we could just play the sound through a speaker, and we wouldn't need special hardware or drivers.

Correct. The format is known and there is a set of software called irtowav that you can install to allow data from an eeprom image to be converted to a .wav file to install into the remote through the PC speaker (no JP1 cable).

IR.EXE even has options (on the file menu) to invoke Irtowav for you (so you don't need to understand irtowav's command syntax.

Of course you can't read the remote's eeprom that way, just write to it. A JP1 cable is much easier to use than .wav files, but if you don't want to get the cable you can use .wav files.
