|

I'm trying to setup my dad's older home theater on a 2117. Everything works except his Panasonic PT-M1085U projector (mfg March 96). With fresh batteries in his remote I learned a couple of keys and IR reports a protocol of GAP-438-1017-56? for each learned key.
I then found a ccf file for this projector on remote central. Running that through ccf2efc gives GAP-432-1012-56? for every key protocol.
So, is this really some known panasonic protocol or is it something new (or should I say really old) that isn't know by IR and KM?
What's my next step in adding this device to the remote? Is learning keystrokes my only option? That will leave me with no options for power on/off discretes.
Craig
P.S. Here's the link to remote central if that helps |

I half remember Jon doing something with that protocol the last time the topic came up, but I can't find the thread where it was discussed.
The protocol is just like the Panasonic protocol, except one extra byte is inserted between the subdevice and the function.
I have several CCF files with samples. In all cases the device is 128, subdevice 72 and the extra byte is zero.
This would be quite easy to create with ProtocolBuilder (if Jon didn't already). If no one reminds me soon of better info in the previous thread and Jon doesn't step in here, I'll create a new protocol and post a protocols.ini to let RemoteMaster create upgrades for this protocol. |

Thanks John,
I already had that downloaded and thought I had tried it. I'll load it again and give it another try. I'll let you know.

Craig,
That device upgrade will give you a good start but many of the commands will be different. Here is the ccf file decoded to OBC's
128.72.0 this is the same device, sub-device, and sub-sub-device as the AE100 so don't change the fixed data.
I also added discrete power commands that may or may not work. These are the typical OBC's for discrete power for Panasonic gear.

I also noticed that this protocol seems to be in protocols.ini already as Panasonic2(LCD)
I ought to add it to DecodeIR.DLL |

John,
Since DecodeIR.DLL is an integral part of IR, and may get updated independent to IR upgrades, could you please post an "announcement" in "Software" similar to what Mark did with KM and Gregg with RM.

Probably a good idea. It looks like the newer Panasonic Projectors are using this protocol. _________________ -Jon |
