I was trying to upgrade my 8910 to handle a recently purchased Pioneer DVR using a JP1 for the first time. I couldn't get the handle of programming the remote, so I stopped all tasks and disconnected the JP1, only to find that virtually all of the codes had been replaced by zeros!
After reloading all the appropriate codes (manually, not with the JP1), the remote reacts as if it is under the weather - sluggish and sometimes not at all. If I point it at my satellite receiver (Expressvu 5900) and press one of the volume keys, it now doesn't react at all or requires repeated pressings of the keys. That's just one example. I tried using fresh batteries to no avail.
I guess my hope is that someone has a set of original codes for this remote and can post them and help me do the programming properly this time.

Try doing a full reset that will restore the remote to all the factory defaults.
For the 8910:
- Press and hold SETUP until screen reads "CODE SET"
- Press RECORD
- Follow the prompts _________________ Mark |

Hey Roberta, try hooking up the remote to the JP1 cable and do a download. If you are able to download the memory, save the file and post a copy of it in the Diagnosis Area folder in the file section, then place a link to the file here so we can look at it. _________________ Rob
