"the upgrade you are trying to import is not valid! It does not contain a value for Remote.name"
I am sure I am missing something. Any help would be greatly appriciated

You can't open a file saved from IR in RM. Can you be a bit more specific on what you're trying to do?

What are you trying to do? Your IR file is the sum total of ALL the programming in your remote. It includes not only device upgrades, but also protocol upgrades, Keymoves, Macros, Learned signals, Device assignments, etc.
A KM or RM file addresses ONLY ONE UPGRADE. These are two completely different types of files, and you cannot open one with the program designed for the other.
That is to say you cannot open an IR-created .txt file with KM or RM. You have to open the IR file in IR. Depending what it is you want to DO with the data in your IR file you can then transfer certain data from IR into KM or RM, but it must (for the most part) be done manually.
For example for learned signals, you must go to the Learned tab and individually read the decode information for each signal and MANUALLY transfer it to either KM or RM.
For transferring a device upgrade, you have to go to the Devices tab, double-click on any upgrade in which you are interested, copy the hex data that appears in the window, and then use the "import raw data" function in RM - although your function names will be defaults, and may be incorrect.
You cannot import Keymoves or Built-in Device Codes from your remote into KM or RM via IR.

ok I am trying to save remote codes from my Coolbx optima (which is not in the codes section) so I can use the codes for my Slingbox
I learned the remote codes from my coolbx optima and then downloaded my 8910 remote codes using ir.exe then I hit file save and saved the file as a txt.. From their I tried to open the txt file in RM and got the error
"the upgrade you are trying to import is not valid! It does not contain a value for Remote.name"
I will upload the file to the dianostic area
http://www.hifi-remote.com/forums/dload ... le_id=3778
Their is the IR file.
Any help would be great

The process of getting that type of info from IR to RM is not automated. You need to do a moderate amount by hand.
In IR.exe look at your signals in the learned signals tab.
In RM create a new upgrade selecting your model of slingbox and NEC1 protocol, Device 133 and subdevice 123. Also select a setup code type and number.
In RM's functions sheet type in each OBC number from the decode info in the learned signals tab.
Type each OBC onto the line whose function name matches the name of the original remote function you learned (not the name of the button onto which you learned it). Of course you need to remember which original remote button you learned to each 8910 button.
If no line in the functions sheet has the right name you can modify the name on any line or add new lines.
From there follow the generic instructions (I forget where) for assigning buttons and generating the Slingbox .bin file.

As I wrote above:

Just make sure you upload the .rmdu file and not the .biin file.
