THere are two reset commands, one is 981 and the other is 980.

The 981 is a full MFR RESET, and while this will delete the learned signals, it will also delete all of the additional codes that were loaded into the EEPROM for Gateway, so you shouldn't use this one.

The 980 is an OPS RESET, this one will also delete your learned signals but it will leave the additional codes in place, so use this one.

also, read it and keep it

After you do the reset to remove the learned codes, you should READ the remote and save it away somewhere so that you don't lose the stuff that Rob mentioned.

He doesn't have a JP1 cable, otherwise I would have recommended taking a backup BEFORE doing any sort of reset, plus he would have been able to use IR.exe to just delete the learned signals, without deleting any other user-programming (such as keymoves and macros) which the 980 command will delete.
