Thanks again, Rob.

I'm at my in-laws' in Wisconsin this weekend, but I'll give it a try at home tomorrow.

Hello Rob!

I tried the Pronto style upgrade on my 8811. It worked fine for me, with FWD and REV buttons repeating when held down. When tapping FWD briefly, it goes to the next song. When tapping REV briefly, it goes to the beginning of the current song. If tapped again quickly, it goes to the previous song. This is the same as the original DLO remote.

I welcome being able to leave the crummy DLO remote in the dock. It is a pain in the arse. Perhaps before Christmas, I can get a URC-1067 to play ball with the DLO dock.

Thank you, and best regards,
Mike in Sacramento

That's great news Mike, could you do me a favor and also try the 2nd upgrade as it's a bit smaller.

Hello Rob!

The DLO dock cannot tell the difference between the two protocols as far as FWD and REV are concerned. The other commands that I tried worked well too. I'll continue to use the shorter protocol. Thanks!

Rob,

For what it's worth, the Pronto-based upgrade worked great for me. F.FWD and F.REW both worked when held down. Up and down actually worked better than before. They were more "fluid", if that makes sense.

In the second upgrade, I still couldn't get fast forward to work. Mike says he was able to get it to work with both upgrades, so maybe the difference is in the URC remotes we're using.

Like I said, I very rarely need to fast forward or rewind when listening to music, but it's great to have a fully functional upgrade. Thanks again for all the good work, Rob!

I guess I'll put the Pronto version in the upgrade file then. Thanks to both of you for testing them.

The guys at UEI have updating their official protocol for the DLO Homedock and have requested that somebody here test it.

If have updated the KM file for it here...
http://www.hifi-remote.com/forums/dload.php?action=file&file_id=3938

So, if any DLO users have the time to test it, please do so and report back whether it works or not.

Thanks,
Rob

Rob,

I just tested all the functions, and everything works fine. However, the function you have labelled as "backlight" seems to perform the play/pause function. The function you have labelled as "info", however, performs as the backlight button does on the original remote, so all 18 buttons on the OEM remote have been accounted for. If you need further clarification on the key mappings, let me know.

I did also verify the scroll behavior when holding the up/down buttons and the fast forward/rewind behavior when holding down F.FWD/F.REW.
