Please help - can't get my URC 7541 to work

Hi guys, I'm stumpted, I thought I was almost there, but...

I have a OFA 7541 remote with Bench KH6777 TV, X-box media center (with DVD remote control), Sony STR K880 Theatre unit and Beko 28421NDS DVD.
I bought the parallel cable, downloaded the IR.exe, and both the Keymap Master & Remote Master and found files that seem to approximate to the devices I have. So far so good...
Managed to find a standard code which worked with the TV (0715), but I cannot get the other buttons to function correctly. I can upload to the remote but the remote acts very strangely afterwards. The first press sometimes works, but, for example when I select Aux and press any two keys, after the second press, the 'Aux' will briefly flash once, then the TV device button will flash twice and the TV is now selected (by itself). I have to press the Aux button again to do another Aux command. I think the upload works ok, because I've downloaded it afterwards and this seems the same on screen.

All the new devices do this, even if I delete all the devices and only try one - it doesn't matter which one, they all give these symptoms. So far I've managed to turn off each of the devices, so the codes must be something close. My ir file is at: https://www.hifi-remote.com/forums/dload ... le_id=3642

Just to complete this in case anyone else has this problem. new batteries in the remote cured it.
