How to I copy the select button to the mute button HS-2000

I have a Showstopper HS-2000, the select button is nolonger working. I thought I've read in the past that you can make one of the other buttons on the remote control fuction as the select button, but I can't find the instructions. Please help, I'd like to make the mute button act as the select button.

1) Press ReplayTV device button
2) Press and hold SETUP (code search) button, 2 flashes
3) Type 994, 2 flashes
4) Type 212 then press the MUTE button, 2 flashes
