Hi all,
I received sound file from OFA. Trying to import it on IR6.20 gives me this popup error message: Unknown block type.
Thanks for your help |

Who/What is OFA?
What device is the sound file of?
What remote is the sound file for?
An extension of the standard rationale below applies. gjarboni wrote: | Since we end up making the same requests for most people who ask questions, maybe this should be a sticky post. Something like:
"Having trouble with upgraded device/macros/keymoves/IR.exe"
Please post your IR and KM/RM file in the Diagnosis Area for us to look at. We can usually spot the mistake in seconds, whereas it could take days with us asking you questions trying to guess which step you might have skipped.
PLUS....
1) PLEASE post a link to the files | Upload the (wav) file in question. _________________ Beginners - Read this thread first

You never noticed how many people write "One For All" incorrectly as OFA?

That's the part that really matters.
Upload the .wav to the diagnosis area then go back to the diagnosis area and find the file you just uploaded and post the URL of its description page back to this thread. (That's the URL you get to when you click on your file in the main list; The URL of the page that contains the download button for that file). |

Thanks for your feedback and sorry for the mistake. I mean OFA (One For All) !
I'll post the sound file which is for URC-7560.

| To be honest, no.
I've seen "All-for-One" relatively frequently, but never saw "OFA", nor made the connection.
Anyways, I get the same pop-up, so it's (likely) not the installation of IR.
Have you tried to upgrade your 7560 with the wav file?
Does it work?
If it works, have you THEN tried downloading from your remote?
If it DOESN'T work, have you tried re-downloading the wav file from OFA? _________________ Beginners - Read this thread first

Did mvtl9902 ever mention whether he actually has a 7560? (vs. getting a .wav file for a 7560 because that's the wav file he could get, but wanting to use JP1 to convert it for some other model).

If he has a 7560 and it works, then the data he wants is available by downloading from the 7560 after loading the wav file. But we still would like some JP1 .wav expert to look at it (I forget at the moment who .wav file experts are).
If he has a 7560 and the .wav doesn't work, then there isn't much we could do with a bad wav file (but maybe .wav file expert has some better idea).
If he lacks a 7560, best guess is the wav file is OK and our wav reading software needs a correction (expert needed).
By strengthening the request to post the wav file I did not mean to imply that *I* was the expert with the time and knowledge to do anything with it. Hopefully a better expert will jump in. |

Thanks all for your help.
Yes, my remote is the "old" URC-7560.
And it seems that now it can't receive sound file. I have tested with other files without success (files from OFA web site, others genrated by IR2WAV). The remote control's device key LED not blinks when the sound file is playing !
The one I uploaded to the forum was generated by the OFA support with the specific upgrade codes and send to me by email.
This is the reason why I want to import the sound file and send code with the JP1 connector. |

I took a look at the.wav file and it is quite different from the usual .wav files downloaded from OFA's site. The .wav file in the diagnosis area is stereo, starts with a few silent seconds and has some silent moments inside. Files from OFA's site are mono and the audio starts directly at the beginning.
In its current form, the import program can not handle such files.
Maybe somebody with a 7560 can try to play that .wav file and export the resulting upgrade. _________________ Alain |

Thanks Alain (are you french ?),
I hope someone has the same remote. Yes, the sound file looks strange. At the end of it you ear something like a microphone switching off noise. Very strange
I ask OFA support to send me back sound files for each upgrade code instead of one will all codes.
I have to wait about one week. So wait and see !

Hi all,
thanks to dsarens (http://www.hifi-remote.com/forums/viewtopic.php?p=48652#48652) I built myself the upgrade code for my remote.
But, i have a little problem. The original remote uses nokia32 protocol. Each key has a diffrent EFC code, except the four color keys. Below is the IR decode result from the IR learning function.
Key Protocol Device Subdevice OBC HxCmd EFC Misc
Red Nokia32 36 12 0 00 018 X=2
Green Nokia32 36 12 0 00 018 X=4
Blue Nokia32 36 12 0 00 018 X=1
Yellow Nokia32 36 12 128 80 014 X=0
So, you see that EFC code is the same for red, green and blue keys. Only Misc changes. What is the way to build such code ? Should I built 3 diffrents upgrade device ?
Thanks for your help.
Now I use the URC-8910 ! |

Knowing nothing else, but assuming that you can build a working upgrade for these functions, but not have all of them in ONE upgrade, the simplest solution is to build a separate upgrade for each one, and assign NO function in the buttons worksheet of KM. Create Keymoves on the Keymoves worksheet of KM and make the "Bound Device" your other upgrade (SAT or CBL or VCR or wherever you have it assigned on your remote).
So does your upgrade work except for the color buttons?
Is the MISC value the same for all other functions?
What is it?
The post to which you refer indicates that you change the fourth fixed data byte to match the MISC value, but I don't see how to force that change in KM.
Someone smarter than I can probably figure it out, but could you please upload to the diagnosis area YOUR KM or RM upgrade file for this device and provide a link. Also a copy of your IR file with the learned signals would help an analyst take a look at what you have done and possibly suggest a workaround. _________________ Beginners - Read this thread first
