Just FYI, VCR/0081 uses the RC-5 protocol with a device code of 5, plus it also allows for some buttons using the lower half (ie, OBC 0-63) of device code 9.
This might be useful if you're looking at other JP1 upgrades that you think might work.
I've created an upgrade that replicates VCR/0081 which you can use as a starting point.

Plus, here are some extra codes for VCR/0081:

thanks!!! I am a newbie so I don't know exactly what to do with all these, but will read up on how to implement.
URC support says they have a code for the DVD, but the code is not in the remote. where would I upload that to the remote in the software??

If by "URC" you mean "OFA" (ie, "One For All") then tell us which code they mentioned as maybe we already know the relevant information about it.
Btw, if you put part of your reply in the subject field, most people will probably miss it.

Try uploading the Philips DVD-codes, like the DVDR80, DVDR985 etc.
They will work for most of the functions.
Find which one is best for you, and then you can start the hunt for the missing keys

I don't have any info on DVD/1506 so I can't verify what protocol/device codes it uses, but the two upgrade files that Sliv mentions both use the RC-6 protocol with a device code of 48.
I would suggest that you start with the DVDR80 file as that has alot of codes in it, so it will probably have all of the functions that you need.

GOOD NEWS!...........have main functionality with the DVDR80 PHilips file.........so if anyone else has this Magnavox, it is a good sub for the DVD Side.....................the only crappy problem I have now is trying to get the source switch from DVD to VCR to talk to the remote so I can swap VCR/DVD from the couch...........
...............thanks guys for all the help and this forum..........

MESSAGE FOR THE ROBMAN:
I was in contact with one for all support and they sent me a nice .doc file with all the key strokes, etc. for the DVD part of my MRV700VR.........
I think I can decipher this a little, but thought that the master might be able to use this to create a keymaster txt file faster than I could.
If you are able to whip it together in a few minutes, can I get a copy, or will you post it??
thanks
..........attached code 1506 document called oneforall.doc in this URL:
http://bigsite.100free.com/oneforall.doc
the web host kicked me off...here's another link to the file

It has been awhile since my last post..........if anybody else of more JP1 experience wants to tackle this...........the web host kicked me off and the old link is no longer valid.........
http://www.bigsite.us/oneforall.doc
I have had this sitting on my desktop and I can't even remember how to decipher this file...........maybe the ROBMAN or someone can explain to me where the figures go and then I can update my IR file??? and then post the updated version here??

That doc that they provided is a list of EFCs (or "advanced codes") for DVD/1506. I've loaded a text version onto my site so you don't need to worry about keeping a copy of the word doc online...
