I'm helping a friend who just bought a 8910 (no cables, yet).
He has a RCA home theatre in a box RT2600 (am-fm and other features).
Also an RCA 52" projection TV model D52W20.
We set up code 1254 for RT2600 and code 1447 for TV. Both work independently of each other very well.
But using a macro to turn on TV, then turn on Audio Receiver, both turn on, then the Audio Reciever shuts back off. I redid the macro so the audio reciever comes on 1st then the TV, but the audio reciever goes back off again. (but independently they both work well with these current codes, just not with a macro). Any help on this please?
thanks
8910 and 2 RCA componants

IIUC, The audio works without a macro, and fails in a macro with the TV.
You seem to assume it is the combination with the TV that causes the problem.
I think it is more likely that the macro itself causes the problem. Even if the macro did nothing other than the audio power, I expect you would get the same result.
Without a JP1 cable, there are limited approaches to fixing this. The best I can think of uses learning:
Learn from the power key of the audio device to some key on the 8910. I think it is better if that isn't the power key of the 8910. When learning, use a VERY short (less than a fifth of a second) press of the original remote power key, not the long press that is normally best.
Use that learned key in the macro instead of the audio power key.

Thanks Johnsfine for the reply. I just got back to my friends house today to try what you suggested. I created a learned power key for the rca stereo [L1]. Used M1 for new macro.
So,
tv+power+sat+power+rcvr/amp+L1 (and everything goes on ok). But the stereo wont shut off.
So I created a M2 macro
tv+power+sat+power+rcvr/amp+power (and everything shuts off ok).
So in short, M1 everything is on, and M2 everything is off.
I know, mind-boggling, but its the best I can think of doing.
