JP1 Remotes

i finally got ir.exe working on a 2nd computer but goofy things were happening on my 1st computer. ir worked fine on the 1st computer in the past but not any more.
trying to read an 8910 remote and these were error messages.

ir6.15 -- access violation at address 004B77B0 in module ir.exe
write of address 00000006
ir6.20 -- same error as 6.15 but different address
ir3.01 -- '15,5 is not a valid integer value
ir7.01 -- failed to open jp1.2 interface

since all worked ok in another computer, i assume i am having a computer error with all the messages.

does anyone have a clue why i am getting all the errors.
