Getting learning feature back on my 8910

It's quite a while since I did anything JP1, and I have just re-programmed my 8910.
Nothing wrong in that, everything is fine.
BUT - I now need to go back to the original software, so that I can use the
learning facility, and I don't seem to have a backup...
How do I get back to where I started?

I assume you are using the extender (otherwise you still have learning).

Make sure you have a .ir file on the PC with your current configuration with the extender. You'll need a starting point after you do some learning.

Learning works once the extender is deactivated, but you might also want to do a manufacturer reset after deactivating and before learning, so you'll have understandible contents after learning. I forget the 8910 manufacturer reset process, but it is several threads.

Any upload or download with IR.exe will deactivate the extender. Or you can remove a battery, then press a key then put the battery back.

Reading between the lines, I assume you are using an extender. If you do an u-load or download from the remote, it will reset the remote and deactivate the extender. At this point, instead of activating the extender, do a full MFR RESET and the remote will be back to it's factory settings. You should probably save this file for future use.
